Last Light Redux endings

Checked 24 October 2026

Metro: Last Light Redux ends as Redemption or as C'est la vie. Redemption is the good ending, and it is the one Metro Exodus continues. C'est la vie destroys D6 with Artyom still inside. The game does not show a point total.

Redemption versus C'est la vie — spoilers

Redemption brings the Dark Ones to help save Artyom and D6; Metro Exodus follows that outcome. In C'est la vie, Artyom destroys D6. Unlike 2033's final targetter choice, Last Light resolves the ending from your earlier route; do not expect a final button that repairs missed choices.

Do not treat 110 or 108 as a guaranteed cutoff

The Steam community guide listed as S30 records 108 moral locations, but its author explicitly says the list is not exhaustive and that the exact trigger is unknown. The 110 figure circulated by community wikis uses a different weighted-point model. Neither is a verified official requirement. The game does not display a score. Gather many positive opportunities and avoid major harmful choices rather than stop at a claimed minimum.

A practical positive-route checklist

Community route priorities from the S30 author
LevelAction to plan
Sparta and the stationsListen to conversations and explore rather than leave as soon as the objective moves.
VeniceGive rounds to the beggars, complete the shooting-range task and return the teddy bear to the child. Pay for the bar damage if that scene occurs.
ContagionRemove your mask when Lesnitsky demands it while threatening Anna; do not attack him during that scene.
DepotChoose the nonlethal outcome for Lesnitsky.
Dead CityWatch the visions without attacking inside them; follow the author's individual scene instructions.
Red SquareSave Pavel rather than leave him to die.
The GardenFight the bear boss as required. Afterwards, when Watchmen attack her as she collapses, shoot the Watchmen off her to save her.

Saving the bear is a post-fight intervention, not a requirement to complete the entire boss encounter without shooting. It also unlocks Forest Guardian. Ordinary soldier kills are not automatically equivalent to the major moral choices above, but avoid civilians, surrendered enemies and unnecessary killing on a positive run.

This route is attributed to the Steam community author displayed as ✞ˣᶻᵐᵃⁿ, not an official hidden-score specification or a playthrough performed by this site. Dialogue on the Polis train is not treated here as a guaranteed early score test.

Use the walkthrough route for the level order and achievements to separate Redemption from Revenge and the destructive-ending run. 2033 endings have different final actions.

Questions

How many moral points guarantee the good ending?

No official numeric cutoff is established by the sources checked. S30's 108 is an incomplete location count, and its author says the exact trigger is unknown. The community 110 figure is not a guarantee.

Do I have to avoid fighting the bear?

No. Complete the boss fight, then kill the Watchmen attacking the collapsed bear to save her. This is the Forest Guardian scene.

Which ending leads to Exodus?

Redemption. C'est la vie is the destructive alternative.
