Metro Redux on PC
Checked 24 October 2026
On PC, Metro 2033 Redux and Metro: Last Light Redux updated on 22 October 2026 on Steam, Epic, and GOG. The install grew to about 20 GB. If the new build will not start, the legacy branch is still on Steam and GOG. The guides below cover borderless mode, field of view, and the flashlight charger without assuming every symptom has the same cause.
Do these in order
- Confirm the system requirements and the 23 October 2026 hotfix builds on the update page.
- If the machine is under the new spec, opt into metro_2033_redux_legacy or metro_last_light_redux_legacy instead of forcing the new renderer.
- Borderless, FOV, crashes, and save folders are on PC fixes. Several 2017 steps were superseded by the resolution fix. Read the date on a guide before you drop a DLL in the folder.
- Community projects and their compatibility/uninstall caveats are on mods; inclusion is not a security certification. This site does not link trainers.
Steam Deck and other systems
Both Steam apps reported Verified on the Deck compatibility check read for this site on 24 October 2026. That status moves when Proton moves. macOS and Linux remain on the store's platform list, and the patch announcement speaks about Windows. Do not assume the 22 October build is the Mac build. The wider matrix is platforms.
Gameplay questions, the mask, and the endings are not PC problems. They live on 2033 Redux and Last Light Redux.
